A primary focus of Community Futures Shuswap is to provide availability to financial resources which might not otherwise be available to individuals to start and/or expand a small business within our service delivery region. Community Futures Shuswap helps businesses grow by offering financing to viable businesses or projects, where financing cannot be obtained through conventional sources. Since 1986, Community Futures Shuswap has lent more than $18 million dollars to start or expand small businesses in the Shuswap which has in turn created nearly 2500 new jobs in our service area. Community Futures Shuswap currently administers the following loan funds; each designed to help you in achieving success in your business. Loan CalculatorCommunity Futures Investment FundAvailable to all loan applicants for business purposes, with a maximum loan amount of $150,000. Loans greater than $150,000: Loans above $150,000 are possible with funding from other financing partners. Youth Entrepreneur Investment FundLoans under this fund are for applicants under the age of 30 for any worthwhile, viable business venture. Forest Community Business Loan FundLoans under this fund are for new or existing entrepreneurs engaged in traditional forest sector businesses and value-added wood product businesses. Forest Renewal BC and CFDCS provide funding. Maximum loan amount is $150,000. Entrepreneurs with Disabilities FundAvailable to new or existing entrepreneurs with physical disabilities, for any worthwhile viable business venture. Terms of LoansFinancing is available to applicants unable to obtain financing from traditional sources. Loan interest rate is floating, prime + 4 percent (minimum 9%). Maximum repayment is 5 years, or 10 years with mortgage security. There is no prepayment penalty. Applicants should have 20 - 25% investment in the business, and provide security for the funds being borrowed. A written business plan and cash flow are required for all applications.
